Capture ssh sessions

Just thought I would post something that I was working in today, It's a setup to capture what happens in all sessions under bash, server side, without user request or input.

I had no idea how to even start this project, so thanks to kris for giving me the idea to use the .bash_history

first of all you need to create a directory in /var/log where you want all your ssh sessions to be logged to.

sudo mkdir /var/log/sessions

now in that folder, you need to add this script

bashlogoutscript.sh

name=`who am i | cut -f1 -d' '`

OLPC's - Factory build 650 and how to upgrade

This is the following email I posted to TayLUG:
I have just got the 2 OLPC's to play around with (last on the list).
With the factory default build version 650 WPA is not working (nobody
mentioned this). An internet connection can be made via a USB wired
ethernet as the Fedora operating system picks it up O.K. The only
problem here is that an internet update only works with build version
653 or higher, due to a bug in the OLPC-update rpm. An updated rpm can
be downloaded and rpm forced to correct this. I decided that I wanted
read more

Describe your favourite distro

I just thought it would be a good idea to have people explain what their favourite distro is and why they like it. It might be useful to new users so they can have a quick look for themselves. Kinda like distro watch but hopefully less formal.

Here goes mine

A lightweight and flexible linux distribution that tries to Keep It Simple.

A quiet revolution? From freedom comes elegance - My intake on the whole Linux thing

For many years a battle of freedom of choice has been brewing, but like many battles of today one side is well funded, well armed, have superior numbers, and have experts in the use of propaganda. In counter to that there is commonly a side that has less money and resources, less numbers on the ground, but an agenda, an ideal. A basic concept, a belief that what is happening is not in the best interest of the people. It could be seen as a fight between the status quo, the norm, the average and change, difference, diversity. However as history proves superior forces that engages it's enemies for too long run the danger of fighting a evolved well adapted machine, that has had the
read more
