Upgrading from Debian Etch to Debian Lenny

Post Type:
Tutorial
I will do the terminal and Synaptic GUI method to satisfy all users:
Synaptic GUI;
Go into Synaptic -> settings -> repositories.
Replace etch with lenny.
Unclick any etch cd repositories.
Reload repositories.
In search mode find debian-archive-keyring.
Upgrade and apply.
After this click Upgrade and then click apply.
Follow install prompts.

Aptitude terminal commands in root mode;
Change etch to lenny in /etc/apt/sources.list.
Comment out any etch cd repositories.
$ apt-get update
$ apt-get debian-archive-keyring upgrade
$ apt-get dist-upgrade
Follow install prompts.

So now you are asking what about all those mutimedia codecs. Debian like Fedora and SuSE has third party multimedia repositories that you can add to your sources.
Debian:
http://www.debian-multimedia.org
remember to download the public gpg first and install via dpkg -i first.
Fedora:
I use Livna, Freshmans & atrpms repositories.
SuSE:
It has got to be the legendary Packman repository (Germany).
